The holidays can be a bittersweet time for families whose loved ones live in residential care — there's often a quiet worry about whether the season will still feel special somewhere new. At both of our homes, we work hard to make sure it does.
A home-cooked meal, not a catered one
Every meal at Paradise Springs is freshly prepared, but the holidays get extra attention. At both Banyan Street and Baker Avenue, our staff put together a full home-cooked holiday dinner for residents — turkey, all the sides, and pie — served the way a family meal should be: warm, shared, and unhurried.
Why the small things matter
We've found that it's rarely the big gestures that residents remember most; it's the familiar smells coming from the kitchen, the table set for a real meal together, and staff who take the time to sit and talk rather than just serve and move on. For residents who might otherwise spend the holidays alone, that shared table makes a real difference.
Families are always welcome
Holiday visits from family are something we actively encourage and plan around — residents look forward to them all season. If you have a loved one at either of our homes, talk to our staff about visiting during a holiday meal; we're always glad to make room at the table.
